As of 20 March 2020
Kawana Surf Club’s mission is to ensure the well-being of the community and safety of our locals year round as a non for profit that works to raise funds for our lifesaving service.
Here at the surf club, we continue to be committed to this cause and ensuring the health and well-being of our patrons and staff who help us in these efforts daily.
As we are monitoring the impact of COVID-19, your safety remains our top priority.
We look to provide you with the updates of our procedures as we work within the government’s new guidelines and operational rules. The Prime Minister announced that non-essential indoor gatherings would be restricted to 100 people. Therefore, this allows the pubs, clubs and restaurants to have up to 100 people in each section of their premises. We have taken measures already to ensure this is adhered to as well as taking extra precautions.
What we're doing
Our staff are playing a significant part in dealing with COVID-19 by exercising good personal hygiene, maintaining personal distance from others and staying home if they are not feeling well.
To build on our high standard of cleaning and sanitation procedures, we will be increasing the frequency of work required to maintain these standards. This includes all kids' facilities and high chairs, toilet areas, door handles, card readers and gaming machines.
We recommend all diners make a reservation, in order to help us comply with Government advice of limiting the number of customers inside. Kawana Surf Club is soon to offer an online takeaway menu. Available for delivery every evening from the most southern part of Wurtulla to Alexandra Headlands. More information on this to come.
Cutlery at the club will be individually wrapped and given to you with your meal. Seats and tables will also be further spaced out to allow for more distance between other customers and will be sanitised before seating.
Our kids' areas will close as of Thursday 19th March.
Bar & gaming
While self-serve water stations will be temporarily closed, the bar staff will be happy to assist if you require water.
In the gaming area, the self-serve tea and coffee machines will be temporarily removed for your health and safety. Barista coffee will be available freely for all members.
Events & functions
If you have an upcoming event booked with us, we recommend speaking to the functions team directly should you wish to make any changes, or have any concerns.
We will endeavour to accommodate your requirements within the limitations of the social distancing requirements.
