ABOUT NIPPERS

ALL Nipper Groups are now CLOSED

Junior Activities (Nippers) is a rewarding experience for the whole family teaching both children and parents, beach and water skills. Members learn the fundamentals of surf safety, how to master the challenge of surf craft and to have fun and make new friends. The Club’s goals are to promote: Surf Skills, Self Esteem, Surf Awareness, Friendship, Confidence and Enjoyment.

We are a small family-oriented club with most of the work being carried out by dedicated volunteers with equipment and operating expenses being paid from donations, sponsorship, fundraising activities and support from the Club’s licensed Supporters Club. Our Club colours are yellow, red and blue.

  • Nippers is a family sport. We are not a drop and go sport. Parental involvement is expected in one way or the other for the smooth running of the program. For nippers who attend midweek training sessions or compete at carnivals, parental involvement is a must.

There are many ways to be involved including:

Age Manager or Assistant Age Manager - All age groups.

Nipper Adult Assistant (NAA) - A role for U6 and U8 parents only.

Water Safety- Bronze Medallion holders are required in the water at a ration of 1 WS for every 5 nippers.

Official- If your child competes at carnivals in U8-U13, one parent is expected to do the official course and help at carnivals.

Parent Rotating Roster. Each week a different Age Group is on duty. Parents from the 'on duty' Age Group are needed to help in all 3 areas, (BBQ, beach set up and beach pack up).
