NIPPERS

ABOUT NIPPERS

ALL Nipper Groups are now CLOSED

Junior Activities (Nippers) is a rewarding experience for the whole family teaching both children and parents, beach and water skills. Members learn the fundamentals of surf safety, how to master the challenge of surf craft and to have fun and make new friends. The Club’s goals are to promote: Surf Skills, Self Esteem, Surf Awareness, Friendship, Confidence and Enjoyment.

We are a small family-oriented club with most of the work being carried out by dedicated volunteers with equipment and operating expenses being paid from donations, sponsorship, fundraising activities and support from the Club’s licensed Supporters Club. Our Club colours are yellow, red and blue.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Nippers is a family-oriented, volunteer-led program that relies entirely on the support of Nipper parents. From Age Managers and Water Safety personnel to BBQ attendants, there are many ways for Nipper adults to get involved, and you may even choose to become a lifesaver yourself!

Parental involvement is crucial for the smooth running of the program, as Nippers is not a “drop and go” sport. We rely on volunteers to ensure the success of the program.

We encourage all members to engage with our members-only platforms, including the Facebook Group and Stack Teams App, as a way to stay informed. Both platforms are accessible by application and approval.

For nippers who attend midweek training sessions or compete at carnivals, parental involvement is a must.

    • Age Manager or Assistant Age Manager

    • Nipper Adult Assistant (NAA) - U6 & U8 only.

    • Water Safety- Bronze Medallion holders are required in the water at a ration of 1 WS for every 5 nippers.
