Junior Activities (Nippers) is a rewarding experience for the whole family, designed to teach both children and parents valuable beach and water skills. Through the program, the focus is on learning the fundamentals of surf safety, how to navigate surf craft, and most importantly, have fun while building lasting friendships. The Club’s goals are to promote surf skills, self-esteem, surf awareness, friendship, confidence, and enjoyment. Our Club colours are yellow, red and blue.
Kawana Waters SLSC is a small club with majority of the work being done by volunteers. Our equipment and operating expenses are paid from donations, grants, sponsorship, fundraising activities and support from the Club’s licensed Supporters Club. Every section of our nipper program is not possible without the help of nipper parents. When signing your child up for Nippers there is an expectation that you will help out with the running of the Sunday sessions.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Nippers is a family-oriented, volunteer-led program that relies entirely on the support of Nipper parents. Nippers is not a “drop and go” sport and we rely on volunteers to ensure the success of the program.
