BRONZE MEDALLION COURSE

There is no upper age limit and we regularly have participants into their sixties so this really is a course suitable for anyone.

If you are under the age 15 but over the age of 13 you can still be a lifesaver. That course runs at the same time as the Bronze Medallion and is called 'Surf Rescue Certificate'.

A prerequisite is that before assessment day you need to complete an unaided 400 metre swim (goggles/masks permitted) in nine minutes or less, in a 25 metre or over pool. Before the candidate can participate in any surf activities a 200m swim in under 5 minutes must be completed and observed by either our training team or a swim instructor.

A ROLE FOR EVERYONE

Not a strong swimmer? That’s ok! Off the beach and behind the scenes, there are literally hundreds of other jobs and opportunities available. Whether it’s a radio operator, surf sports coach, a club Committee Member, a BBQ coordinator or a junior activities age manager, there’s a role for everyone at Kawana Waters Surf Club.
